1. Air-Gapped Privacy & Zero Code Exfiltration
At Dutch P2P, we maintain an absolute foundational mandate: developer tools must never spy on, transmit, or harvest your source code. Modern software development involves proprietary business logic, trade secrets, security keys, and customer architectures.
Zero Data Exfiltration Guarantee: Your source code, AST tokens, file paths, branch names, and code comments are processed strictly in local RAM and CPU. Zero bytes of code ever leave your machine.
What We Never Collect:
- ZERO Remote Telemetry: Matlock contains zero background analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party monitoring beacons (zero Google Analytics, zero PostHog, zero Segment, zero Sentry).
- ZERO Cloud Code Sinks: The desktop application does not upload scan reports, AI risk scores, violation counts, or diagnostic metrics to any remote server or cloud bucket.
- ZERO AI Model Training: Because your code is never transmitted or stored off-device, it can never be used to train public or proprietary AI models.
2. Storage Isolation & Non-Interference Guarantee
To ensure your development environment remains clean and that AI coding agents cannot tamper with your diagnostic configuration:
- Air-Gapped Ignore Persistence: User-selected false positive suppressions persist strictly in OS-level user data directories (%APPDATA%\Matlock\ignores.json on Windows, ~/.config/matlock/ignores.json on Linux).
- Zero Repo Footprint: Matlock never writes .matlockignore, .matlockrc, or dotfiles inside your project repositories.
- Non-Blocking Git Policy: Matlock is an independent pre-flight safety inspector, not a commit bouncer. It never installs hooks into .git/hooks/ and never blocks git commits.
- Zero Code Mutation: The scanner is 100% read-only. It exposes defects and outputs copy-ready defensive prompts for AI coding agents, eliminating any risk of code corruption or broken imports.
3. Annual Subscription & Cryptographic Licensing
Matlock is offered as a single-seat annual subscription license ($24.99 USD / year, regularly $49.99):
- Offline HMAC Verification: License keys (MATLOCK-V1...) are cryptographically verified 100% locally on your CPU using embedded mathematics. The desktop application does not ping authentication servers during usage.
- Subscription Duration & Lifecycle: 365 days active state, 7-day warning state, 3-day grace period, and graceful degradation to the Free Diagnostic Tier forever upon expiration with zero software lockout.
- Payment Processing: Commercial purchases are handled securely by authorized merchant of record Crossmint. Dutch P2P never stores credit card details or billing credentials.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties & Heuristic Limitations (AS-IS)
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- "AS IS" Basis: THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
- Heuristic Nature: Matlock is an automated heuristic diagnostic instrument designed to assist developers in identifying common AI coding regressions and hazards. Dutch P2P does not warrant that the software will detect every defect, runtime exception, or security vulnerability.
- Limitation of Liability: Under no circumstances shall Dutch P2P or its contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages. In no event shall aggregate liability exceed the amount paid for the annual subscription ($24.99 USD).
5. Proprietary Engine & Intellectual Property Protection
You retain 100% ownership and copyright of all source code scanned by Matlock. Licensor retains all copyright, trade secret, and intellectual property rights in the Matlock software:
- Purchasing a subscription license grants a personal, non-exclusive right to run the application; it does not transfer ownership of source code, AST rules, or matching algorithms.
- Decompilation, reverse engineering, unauthorized extraction of rule formulas, or redistribution of compiled binary packages is strictly prohibited.
6. Platform & Trademark Compliance
Matlock is an independent commercial software product developed by Dutch P2P.
- Windows, Microsoft Store, and Windows Defender are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
- Linux is the registered trademark of Linus Torvalds.
- macOS and iOS are registered trademarks of Apple Inc.
- Claude is a trademark of Anthropic PBC. Cursor is a trademark of Anysphere, Inc. Copilot is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. Reference to third-party tools is for interoperability descriptions only.
